Hi all

I've manually flashed ROBIN routers 100's of times but this version (r2689) is a bit different .

As soon as the router was flashed I would normally pull the power cable out then set the router up in its final place of rest.

If you do that now it appears that your router will becomes locked even after a reboots.

It appears that the router now needs to make a connection with the
dashboard and reconfigure before you can pull the power cable out.

Im suggesting that after a reflash leave your router to sit for 30 minutes before unplugging the power cable?

Another mysterious version appears... Myself and others have complained many times about these "secret" releases that can't be obtained and tested by many people. The supposed "test" firmware at "http://svn2.hosted-projects.com/ansanto/robin-mesh/downloads/firmware/test/" is still at r2688/8, not r2689.

Why can't we have only two versions, stable and test, with the test version being the same for all and thus able to be "tested" by many?

If what 'Ispyisail' says about r2689 is correct, then I would find it very annoying indeed.

Keeping it plugged in isn't an issue for me, its how I do it now.. let the thing just settle out before moving it.

However, whats different about 2689 from 2688 besides this issue?

I know that the "communication" with users must be improved, unfortunately it is still an our lack, and is up to us to do this but it would not hurt if one of you could manage this aspect (as ispysail did with the wiki) just because we are a community.

Back to the topic, basically 2689 = 2688 unless STP (

)

You have also to know that the test images are autogenerated at every commit as they are part of a development process while the "official" test release, as well as the stable one - is provided by open-mesh upgrade server.
I'm also working at a new fresh SVN that may offer the canche to compile any "milestone" version such as 2671, 2683, 2685, 2688 and so on in time. It wll also have the "current" official test release available as download.

Its not secret Its on the web for everybody to download. It a manual download only only at the moment. You know its risky using these versions pre-release versions but somebody got to do it.
