@ aphilsmith I think you misunderstand the scope of robin, it is not really an application / deamon / service but more a customization of an entire distribution. Perhaps what you are looking for is an implementation of the Batman meshing protocol. They are out there I believe.

I suggest that you start a new thread in the x86 Platforms section of the forum that this thread is in. That way you might get more attention / input as this thread concerns a specific attempt at robin on openwrt in x86.

Hope this helps and that I haven't mis-understood your requirements.

Phil

I have a large number of Meraki and Accton routers and reflashed them with OpenWRT+RO.B.IN. I have a large number of servers each with Atheros/madwifi required to Mesh with these routers, and rather than requiring a gateway-node attached to each server, I wanted to use the (x86) server to behave as a gateway itself.

Hi,

Just got a couple of atheros based cards from solwise.co.uk and they work brilliantly. No problems installing robix onto some old hardware so now I have two working nodes. (One mini-itx, one old AMD Duron)

Have you been building this using the openwrt buildroot? I've messed with this quite a lot in the past for all the wrt54g's that I've got and done a fair bit of customisation.

If so, was it the latest release or SVN, and can you post the .config file? I'd love to have a mess around and see if I can get nodogsplash working.

Cheers,

Darren.

@ darrenp

Glad to here robix is working in part at lease for you, well done with the coova fix by the way - others see "Bug in robix with Coova. (with fix!)" in this forum by darrenp.

Sorry to take so long in replying but just been busy with trying to eat and stay dry.

All that you ask for regarding build details is and always has been contained / documented in each and every robix version, contained in the relevant .tar.gz 's available from opensourcemesh. Note that many things change with each release though and there is a lot of work to be done to update these directions / details to include the last hundred or so changes in robin before the next robix release can be done. See my message in this forum earlier today in "Robix - Automatic update to lasted [latest] robin version" for an indication of these.

I hope this helps but expect that you have already found them long ago.
