as well as digging into some other posts looks as if everything in the "ubiquiti" folder is based on .26 kernel. Could anyone let me know if this is true? Can .23 kernel firmware be used on the devices and if so would the builds come out of the generic .23 folder or where are people getting .23 kernel versions to run on ubiquiti? Just trying to figure out the logic behind all these different builds.

Thanks

I guess if you have some of the devices, flash them with the builds out of the directory I link above. Let them phone home to your server or ssh into them and see what kernel they run. I'm just trying to figure out if all the builds outputted in that folder are .26 and if the recommened firmware for all Ubiquiti devices are .26.

I don't actually have any devices so it makes it alittle harder for me to figure this out. I have some on the way but just trying to wrap my head around what people are flashing them with and the logic behind this special Ubiquiti folder. I'm thinking that upon completion of compiling the .26 firmware and doing the "pico hp" trick on the /bin directory that the resultant ubnt style builds are then copied over to this special Ubiquity folder for people to use. I really don't see it being a mix match of .23 and .26 firmware sitting in one folder.

I can't believe you have made 76 posts and you don't have a router Smile

As a rule of thumb ubnt is .26 and eveything else is .23

But eventually i assume everything will move to .26 and higher

I have routers, lol.

What I don't have is Ubiquiti, but I am helping people with the devices. I do have the routerstation Smile

Trust me, I'm up and running with all this stuff, 2 OM1P's and 2 EOC 1650's. Just doing my homework...
