Hi Everyone,

I have gotten robin going on a PC Engines ALIX board. It is checking in to the open-mesh dashboard, but the node shows an error. I am still working through some of the issues, but I am getting close. I have been working with r2423, but am going to try r2312. This are going well...

My main question really, is how to deal with multiple radios. My desire is to have the ability to mesh on one 5.8ghz radio and offer up wifi on the second 2.4ghz radio. I was wondering if Antonio or others have put thought into the design or know of any hooks in robin that would support this.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave

Hi,
I also use Alix boards for router (m0n0wall) and like the idea.
On another side, the RouterStation from Ubiquiti is a lot cheaper here (1/2 price).
For multiple radios, I can say it is not implemented yet, we had already few discussions about it, also nobody that I know tried to install on a 5Ghz.
Good luck, you have a nice project there.

We run m0n0wall and pfSense on the Alix board and love them.

I purchased a RouterStation and will see what I can make happen when it gets here. The price is right for such a beefy box. Do you have robin running on yours?

..no,
I do not have the skills to do the kind of work you do...
But I am a good tester, and willing to help.
I have a RouterStation on hand , working on openwrt.
they are cheaper than alix, only no cf card i/f.. Sad
CF is nice to change system fast..

I'm confused by the multi-radio point. Surely it's just a case of setting one radio to create an ad-hoc VAP for olsrd and then then creating the other two VAPs that are in Master mode on the other radio?

We still have ath0, ath1 and ath2 the only difference is we create the second two on wifi1 rather than wifi1
