OK... really stupid question: what is the difference and/or relationship between ROBIN and Open-Mesh? Are they two variants of the same concept? Complementary products?

Thanks!

Complex question

They are separate projects

This was the relationship in the early days

In the early days MikeBB controlled the dashboard and sold routers and Antonio made the firmware

But it now appears that MikeBB maybe going in a different direction in respect to firmware?

ispyisail,

Thanks for the response... and the links. So, if I understand what I just read correctly, ROBIN is open-source firmware that can be installed/flashed onto hardware to enable it to be Open-Mesh. "Open-Mesh" itself is a group/movement/"certification" that encompasses the ideals of "WiFi deployment models that are flexible and affordable enough to work in low-income and developing areas of the world, yet powerful and reliable enough to thrive in commercial applications" and that are owned by their installers/creators, low-cost and easy-to-install, etc.

Makes sense now. Thanks! Very Happy

to enable it to be Open-Mesh

I would suggest the other way round

ROBIN requires a dashboard to operate and open-mesh.com is the best but there are other solutions
