I wonder if anyone has checked this site recently.

I have been running OpenMesh and Cloudtrax for 5 years now and although things could be better, I would say it has been successful.

Just got the following from OpenMesh/CloudTrax:

Yesterday we announced the End of Life for Robin firmware. We're letting you know that you have one or more networks that have checked in to CloudTrax in the last month running this firmware version. Action is required to prevent a network disruption.
All access points Open-Mesh previously shipped with Robin (pre-NG) firmware installed, including the OM1P and MR500, are capable of running newer, supported firmware versions. We're encouraging all customers to upgrade devices currently running Robin firmware to fw-ng-481 through the CloudTrax dashboard. This version includes a number of significant features and performance improvements over Robin.
Access points running Robin firmware will no longer check in to the CloudTrax dashboard as of August 3, 2015. Your access points must be upgraded before that date to continue to function normally.
Third party access points are not capable of running NG firmware, as official support for these devices was discontinued in 2011.

was bound to happen I guess. I imagine there were lots of 3rd party openwrt devices connecting.

Does anyone have an alternate stable solution. That supports third party devices?

Thanks for letting us know. I wasn't aware of that. Would love to switch over... except that, as part of the mix, I'm relying on some Ubiquiti bullets running ROBIN... Sure wish openmesh/cloudtrax had something equivalent...

Just received a fresh warning from Cloudtrax that nodes running robin-mesh will no longer check in after March 11.

Has anyone been able to do over-the-air upgrades from r3842 to the ng firmware? I've tried a couple things to no avail:
- changing the settings in general.services to point to cloudtrax for firmware
- customizing my upgrade.sh and sysupgrade.sh files to use ng-firmware (got an error that flash partition was smaller than the new squashfs file)

I guess if I can't figure out the OTA upgrade to NG, my recourse will be to rebuild orange mesh or one of those old free dashboards.

Last resort - replace the units.

I've already replaced most of my units to a more standard configuration. I'd be interested in how you rebuild orange mesh or another free dashboard.

The one thing I do miss is the ability to see how much data my APs are using.

It seems that now Cloudtrax has finally stopped working for robin-mesh nodes (about a week later than expected).

Just curious - where have people landed? WestbyWest - what're you up to?

As for me, I dug out the orangemesh dashboard and started having nodes checkin there. It's pretty simple but you have to add nodes directly in the database (using phpmyadmin) because the Maps don't work. Google maps api updated from v2 to v3 several years ago, and OrangeMesh was left behind. I started to port the code over to Google Maps v3 and was getting close, but lost initiative.

Is anyone still using their own dashboard, and what is it? I have located old code for:
OrangeMesh (basically works) / OpenMesh (alpha-broken)
Mesh-Connect (haven't tried it yet)
One File Dash
POMADE

Are there still robin-mesh holdouts that need minimal dashboard?
