Have you tried running ROBIN on them rather than NG? I doubt that you will get a helpful response from the NG developers since they don't support Ubiquiti equipment.

The reason they will not mesh is they use two different methods to mesh NG uses Batman, Robin uses, well Robin. They will not talk to each other since each uses a different protocol.
